“China Root-Seeking” Los Angeles Youth Summer Camp 2010
“China Root-Seeking” summer camp activities for overseas Chinese Youth are held by the Overseas Chinese
Affairs Office of State Council and the China Overseas Exchanges Association in order to help overseas Chinese American young
people learn Chinese language, understand the Chinese history and culture, and also promote the exchanges between those young
people living both in China and abroad through the event.
This event consists of all aspects of learning includes Chinese language, basic knowledge of Chinese culture,
Chinese art, and training on language skills through communication with the local Chinese youth students, and visiting historical
and cultural attractions.
At the
aim to let Los Angeles Chinese American young people have more opportunities to learn Chinese and to experience the Chinese
culture, at the same time, take the opportunity to attend the Shanghai World Expo, the Chinese Culture and Development Center
(The China Press) will officially launch the 2010 “China Root-Seeking” Los Angeles Youth Summer Camp Event.
As the only one agency authorized in Southern California area, by the China
Overseas Exchanges Association and the Shanghai Overseas Exchanges Association, we will make this camp a great tour to China
from July 19th and August 3rd 2010 (15 days trough), with all kinds of activities such as:
a) Shanghai “Meet in Shanghai, Join at Expo”
---- Overseas Chinese Youth Summer Camp (about 3,000 students/activities including visiting Expo, experiencing the City making
Better Life - theme of the Expo activities, balloon flying of harmony, Evening Huangpu River tour, Oriental Pearl Tower tour,
the Yuyuan Garden tour and watching the “Cosmic Voyage" of Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and the Chinese
acrobatic show, etc.).
b)
Beijing “China Root Seeking” Summer Camp (about 6,000 students /activities including not only the tour of the Forbidden
City, Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, but also the visits to the Olympic Stadium as Nest and the Water Cube,
etc.)
c) Beijing Chinese language
and Culture College “Chinese Culture Learning Camp” includes learning more about Chinese history and culture, and taking classes
such as calligraphy, handicraft art, Chinese painting and Chinese martial arts.
