2011 China Root Seeking Summer Camp - Sichuan

Program

2011 "China Root-Seeking" Summer Camp will be held in July as scheduled. This year, as the only one agency authorized in Southern California area, the Chinese Culture Development Center (The China Press) will launch 2011 "China Root-Seeking" Los Angeles Youth Summer Camp Event from July 24th to August 8th (15 days), with all kinds of activities such as: 
A. Beijing (From July 24-28):  Forbidden City, Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, Bird's Nest, Water Cube, etc.
B. Chengdu, Sichuan (From July 28-August 7th): Sichuan culture and history class, Chinese martial arts class, calligraphy class, handicraft class, local folk dances, local performance shows, Leshan Giant Buddha, Mount Emei, Dujianyan Irrigation System, Kuan-Zhai Ancient Street, Chengdu Panda Base, Sanxingdui Culture Center, Wenchuan Earthquake Disaster Reconstruction Area, Meeting Local Chinese Students, etc.

Application

Chinese American Youth who age between 12 to 18 years old are welcome to apply. Please see application form for additional requirements and details.Applicants must have a passport that will be valid for at least 6 months after the planned return from China. If you need to apply for or renew a passport, be sure to begin the process immediately so that you will have your valid passport in hand by mid-June. 
Application Deadline: June 15, 2011
Applicants will be informed of the results of their application by June 15. In Order to participate, accepted applicants must submit a signed payment to CCDC by June 30.

Cost

$500 per applicant cover: Program fee, Living, Meals, Transportation, Tickets.
Fee Do Not Cover: Airfare, Visa Application Fee, Insurance, personal expenses.
